Altar Décor

Space for “The Gods” cannot be confined, but keeping idols in skillfully made altars can surely give the ‘temple feel’ at home, maintaining a sense of purity. Temples or altars are the most sacred place in the house. Many people dedicate a full room for their god, depending upon their needs.

However, today beautiful and artistic altars are also available. These altars not only make special spaces for God but also complement with the décor. The sizes and patterns of the altar differ, depending upon the individual choices and space available. The material used for altars can vary and some options in the market include marble, wood and acrylic. Altars may be bought readymade or made to order.

Marble has always been an obsession for many, as it depicts richness and elegance. Marble is carved in different ways to give the effect of a temple and is often inlaid in the wall. The white colour of the marble suits any kind of décor and also depicts purity. Earlier wood altars were seen in most houses. These are still popular, and different kinds of wood is used depending on individual preferences. Unlike marble altars, wooden altars can be painted in various colours of your choice.
